ABOUT BRENNAN M. COX.

MY WIFE, Catharine Louise Cox, and I value our faith, family, friends, and work—equally. See Arthur C. Brooks & Oprah Winfrey, Build the Life You Want: The Art & Science of Getting Happier 86–88 (2023) (highlighting how a good life depends on faith, family, friends, and work). These values even named Thoreau’s management company: Three Foxtrot One Whiskey, LLC.

Faith. Jesus Christ died on a cross for my sins and rose from the dead three days later. Each Sunday, we attend church at Atlanta Westside Presbyterian Church. And each Sunday, we practice the Sabbath, when we only rest and worship.

Family. August 1, 2024, I proposed to Catharine on the tee of “Point Garry,” the first hole of the West Links in North Berwick, Scotland. We later wed among family and friends in Newnan, Georgia. She, born and raised in Newnan, is the daughter of John and Julie Williams. Her brother is Addison Williams. I, born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, am the son of David and Page Cox. My sister is Hollis Cox.

Friends. My deepest friendships are those maintained on a golf course or in a dining room. Tee times and reservations, in other words, are my love language.

Work. Before turning my focus to Thoreau in October, 2025, I clerked for The Honorable Steve C. Jones, a U.S. Senior Judge for the Northern District of Georgia. After this clerkship, I was supposed to practice corporate law with King & Spalding LLP in New York, where I’m still licensed.

Before law, I worked as a caddie at three golf courses. First, Peachtree Golf Club for two years. Second, Muirfield, home to the Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers, for six weeks. Third, the Old Course at St Andrews for one round—when my father played.

And for school, I spent seven years at the University of Georgia. There, I earned a J.D., magna cum laude, from the School of Law, joining its Order of the Coif and Georgia Law Review. I also earned a B.B.A. in Finance, summa cum laude, with Highest Honors, as a First Honor Graduate. During the summer of 2018, I spent a term at the University of Oxford.

During law school, I served as the president of Gridiron and as the Student Athletic Representative on the UGA Athletic Association Board of Directors. And during college, I joined Sigma Alpha Epsilon and served as president of the Interfraternity Council. My peers elected me to Sphinx, Gridiron, Greek Horsemen, Blue Key, Omicron Delta Kappa, Phi Kappa Phi, and the Student Managed Investment Fund.

To earn the rank of Eagle Scout, I completed a service project at my public high school in DeKalb County, Georgia.
